It is the purpose of the Low Country Plein Air Society to further the tradition of plein air painting both in and outside the art community and to preserve the landscape which is our inspiration through support of organizations whose emphasis is conservation of our natural resources.
We provide a venue for artists to meet, paint, interact, encourage and learn from one another. This will be done by organizing regular "paint-outs" and allowing time at the end of each painting session for constructive critiques. Our exposure outside the community of artists will be through future exhibition opportunites, plein air competitions and involvement in efforts to support and raise money to preserve the landscape of the low country.
As a group we are available to partner with organizations who are also dedicated to the preservation of the waterways, land, wetlands and history of the low country. We are available to paint, participate in benefits, display our artwork or organize an exhibition of our artists in conjunction with those organizations. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of our artwork resulting from those opportunities will be donated to the conservation organization.
Membership is open to artists of all levels and in all mediums.
